| The Idaho Xpress Tubing Hill is a new tubing hill that opened this year in Garden Valley, which is about 50 miles north of us going up Hwy 55 and then right on Banks/Lowman Highway. The photo gallery on the left is of the drive and the one on the right is of the tubing hill. Dilan, Madison, and Dilan's girlfriend Tessa tubed while we watched. We had went to the evening session and it got dark pretty quick once there. Garden Valley is only at around 3200 feet elevation but because of the valley location of it in-between mountain ranges it can get really cold. When we arrived it was about 10 degrees, but fortunately there was no wind. Still, with the sun going down it was very cold even though we all had several layers of clothes on underneath our snow clothes. It was impossible to take your gloves off for any period of time without your fingers hurting. By the time we left two hours later it was around 5 degrees. Now we know not to go to the evening session. It took us about an hour to get home and when we got to our house it was 40 degrees; to give a comparison of how much colder it is there compared to where we live. We're at 2700ft elevation. |
